A portrait of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The portrait is from an archival black and white photo of a young Frida in Mexico City. The artist presents a colorized version created in water-based oils with palette knife on canvas board. The painting is framed in a 3" wide wood frame with gold finish.
Since 1998 I've created a series of classical paintings that include portraits and figures; wildlife, landscapes, and still life. I've also done some iconic works and illustrations. My art has been exhibited in Mexico and in the U.S. My collectors are predominantly in the US and Mexico. In 1981, I completed my interior and exterior architectural design, and art studies, in Coyoacan, Mexico. Since 1993, I've studied painting and drawing with Jo Mullendore, Nikki Szeto, Bruce Williamson, Darra Keeton, and William Kalwick, Jr., in Houston, Texas.
