Based on a dramatic archival black and white photo of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, the artist takes advantage of the light and shadow to present a colorized portrait image of Frida. The work is painted with water-based oils and palette knife on canvas board. The work hangs on a 3" wide wood frame with silver finish.

Since 1998 I've created a series of classical paintings that include portraits and figures; wildlife, landscapes, and still life. I've also done some iconic works and illustrations. My art has been exhibited in Mexico and in the U.S. My collectors are predominantly in the US and Mexico. In 1981, I completed my interior and exterior architectural design, and art studies, in Coyoacan, Mexico. Since 1993, I've studied painting and drawing with Jo Mullendore, Nikki Szeto, Bruce Williamson, Darra Keeton, and William Kalwick, Jr., in Houston, Texas.
